The Financial Empowerment and Problem Solving (FEPS) program at Agincourt Community Services helps those with modest income with preparing tax returns throughout the year and holds free income tax clinics during the tax season. In 2022, our tax clinic volunteers prepared over 2,000 tax returns for those in need. Program participants include newcomers, homeless individuals, youth, and seniors, most of whom reside in Scarborough. FEPS also provides one-on-one support for financial matters and problem-solving. Education and public awareness are offered to community members regarding financial literacy. Volunteers assist individuals and families in completing income tax returns on an appointment basis, one-on-one, either in person or virtually.
We are seeking volunteers who would be willing to assist either virtually, in-person or both. Please note that all in-person volunteers must be fully vaccinated in order to participate.
Our clinics will be delivered in March and April, 2023, Monday - Saturday. Tentative shift schedules are 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
In-person clinics will be delivered at three of our Scarborough sites: ACSA Main Site at 4155 Sheppard Ave. E., ACSA Chester Le Community Corner at 201 Chester Le Blvd., and at ACSA Dorset Park Community Hub at 1911 Kennedy Road.
