Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is a dynamic community agency that has been working with residents of under-resourced and low-income neighbourhoods in Scarborough for over 50 years. We are committed to helping people move out of poverty in order to build strong, vibrant communities. We support new Canadians, children, youth and their families, seniors, and residents in becoming active and engaged citizens who can thrive and become leaders in their own lives and communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

ACSA is excited to welcome a seasoned Fund Development Manager to our team – someone who brings with them innovative ways of engaging with our donors and growing our donor base, and who can lead and inspire our team to promote a culture of fundraising within our organization. Our ideal candidate is passionate about making an impact in our communities and is eager to share all the great stories about our work so we can do even more!

 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Work with board fundraising committee and senior team to develop a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising plan, including strategies for prospect development (corporations and individuals) and annual campaigns, targets and timelines
  • Collaborate with senior team in developing fundraising goals for next three years
  • Increase base of individual donors, including further development and expansion of monthly and recurring donations, as well as legacy or planned giving
  • Explore, identify and employ best practices in digital fundraising
  • Develop and manage donor stewardship and recognition processes and put them into action to cultivate solid donor relationships
  • Work alongside board fundraising committee to further develop specific board roles in supporting ACSA’s fundraising strategy; identify resources, training, etc. to assist board members in this process
  • Provide training and information to staff to build a stronger fundraising culture and capacity within ACSA
  • Implement and manage annual campaigns and events, managing plans, budgets and evaluation/reporting
  • Research current and potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to increase their engagement with ACSA
  • Ensure that ACSA initiatives are evidence-based and evaluated regularly, and that recommendations are developed and implemented
  • Work with Leadership staff to further develop ACSA’s case for support, and create messaging and marketing materials for events and campaigns
  • Manage regular donor communications
  • Work with staff to identify, collect and highlight impact stories from clients and community members to raise ACSA’s profile and boost fundraising efforts
  • Lead implementation of donor management system, maintain complete and orderly records of donors
  • Develop key fundraising policies and practices
  • Work with senior and management teams to develop foundation proposals
  • Analyze the performance of campaigns and events to determine effectiveness and identify areas for change/improvement
  • Assisting in annual financial audit preparation regarding fundraising data and records
  • Produce and present regular reports to ED and board

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

 

As our ideal candidate, you have:

 

  • Passion and enthusiasm for leading this work!
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant, manager-level fundraising experience and a solid track record of cultivating and securing donations
  • Completed a related degree or diploma in the field
  • Knowledge about non-profit fundraising requirements and regulations in Ontario
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate strategic plans, set directions, while also managing operational details
  • Experience managing competing priorities and successfully meeting project timelines
  • Ethical practices, personal integrity, and good judgment
  • Self-motivated team player who practices proactive and transparent communication, frequently collaborating with peers
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholder groups
  • Excellent capacity to think strategically, innovatively and critically, with solid problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Expertise in verbal, written and online communications – clearly and effectively conveys fundraising needs, requests and plans to key stakeholders; uses innovative digital tools to market fundraising initiatives; produces concise, persuasive messaging for current and potential donors and funders
  • Strong technology skills, including managing and analyzing donor information
  • An understanding of and ability to work from an anti-racism, anti-oppression approach and adhere to related policies
  • A solid understanding of current in new trends, opportunities, and practices

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful clearance of a police reference check will be required

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Schedule will be arranged with Executive Director  
  • travel may be required to various ACSA sites
  • work office will be located at the ACSA Main site located at 4155 Sheppard Ave East
