Early Childhood Education Worker

Position Type: Contract 9 weeks, 35 hours a week (Monday-Saturday)

Pay rate: $15/hr

Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is a nonprofit, multi service agency addressing needs and empowering children, youth, newcomers, homeless, and otherwise underserved communities. Our core programs include housing and outreach programs, food security programs, newcomer services, youth outreach and therapy programs, child and family programs, early years’ programs, computer access programs, and community engagement.


ACSA is seeking an innovative and creative individual to enhance the well-being of the Children/Youth in the Child and Family Centre.


Programs are offered virtually, and outdoors.  Successful candidates will be required to work virtually as well as come in to the Centre to run in person outdoor programs and fulfill other tasks at the Centre while following social distancing measures as set by public health.


Duties include:

  • Plan, implement and evaluate child-centered activities (ages 0-12); Assist in conducting Restorative Justice Summer program, Early Childhood drop in program, Kindergarten Readiness program etc.
  • Complete administrative duties as directed
  • Ensure activities are kept supplied and well organized
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each program participant
  • Support and supervise volunteers and children
  • Report absences to Program Coordinator
  • Participate in all activities including sports, trips, etc.
  • Arranging spaces and furniture for various activities including snack, activity, play space, sanitizing toys
  • Work alongside program coordinator, parents/caregivers while engaged in the program and while maintaining a professional conduct
  • Apply first aid when necessary
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the program services coordinator.



  • Youth between 17-30 years old
  • Work or volunteer experience with children (0-12 years old)
  • Experience in developing and implementing children programs which are sensitive to ethno-racial and cultural needs
  • Experience with different types of Art (dance, drama, photography, sketching, etc.)
  • Experience with skill development, planning and leading sports activities (Basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Certified in High 5 Standards of Healthy Child Development an asset
  • Food handling certificate an asset
  • A positive attitude with creative and dynamic leadership skills
  • Second language an asset (Mandarin, Tamil, Farsi, etc.)
  • Current police reference check is mandatory.
