Health and Wellness Programmer

Position Type: Contract 12 weeks, 30.5 hours a week (Monday-Saturday)

Pay rate: $14.00/hr

Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is a multi service not-for-profit agency located in Scarborough. We are looking for mature, energetic and knowledgeable Health and Wellness Programmer to run programs over the summer at our Dorset Park Community Hub location.



  • Design, develop, evaluate and provide quality programming for Senior’s in Dorset Park area. Programming will include a spectrum of programs from healthy eating and active living to social events;
  • Facilitate access to training opportunities, initiatives and workshops that will meet the needs of seniors in the community;
  • Creation and promotion of a collaborative process with various service providers to create new opportunities for senior program provision;
  • Demonstrated meaningful engagement of seniors in all aspects of project development, implementation and evaluation;
  • Conduct outreach for the programs;
  • Regularly attend and participate in staff meetings;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisors.



  • Youth between 15-30 years old
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Experience in senior engagement; knowledge of  current senior issues
  • Excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills;
  • Results oriented and highly motivated person;
  • Demonstrated experience working with seniors from various cultural, ethnic, social-economic, and developmental backgrounds in a community-based setting;
  • Excellent leadership and team work skills;
  • Ability to work both independently (self-directed), but also able to collaborate effectively with other team members;
  • Superior organizational and communication skills;
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and occasionally weekends;
  • Computer literacy and practical skills around programs used for administration and design is required;
  • Demonstrate outreach and engagement skills
  • Second Language is an asset.
