ANC Youth Facilitator

Position Type: Contract 10 weeks, 35 hours a week

Pay rate: $14.00/hr

Agincourt Community Services Association (ACSA) is a multi service not-for-profit agency located in Scarborough. The Chester Le Community Centre provides community programs and services for residents of Chester Le and Steeles/L’Amoreaux.  This position calls for a student that is able to help support the day to day needs of local resident, and to support the facilitation of summer programming and services.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, implement and evaluate activities.
  • Complete administrative duties as directed.
  • Ensure activities are kept supplied and well organized.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each program participant.
  • Support and supervise youth and resident leaders.
  • Report absences to Program Manager.
  • Participate in all activities
  • Apply first aid when necessary
  • Support other duties assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Youth between 15-30 years old
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
  • Experience in developing and implementing youth programs which are sensitive to ethno-racial and cultural needs.
  • Experience with different types of programming for residents.  
  • Experience with skill development, planning and leading activities (workshops, events and basketball, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in at least one program area (listed above).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A positive attitude with creative and dynamic leadership skills.
  • Experience working with youth 6-16 years old would be an asset
  • First Aid certification an asset.
