Garden Socials & Meetings

From June until the end of October, ACSA's Food Security department hosts regular garden socials and meetings. Community gardeners spend time together talking about planting, harvesting, tending to vegetables, and learning new growing techniques through a virtual platform.

At the end of October 2021, our team was able to host some of our gardeners in-person at our Chester Le location for a Harvest Party to wrap up the gardening season. Gardeners from our Backyard, Balcony programs and Chester Le and Midland Gardens came together for a time of seed trading, participated in fun games, activities, and raffles for prizes, as well as enjoyed some food and drinks together!

Bottom: playing a fun guessing game of ‘What Fruit or Vegetable Are You?” for a chance to win awesome prizes!
