Kindergarten Readiness

This program is catered to children preparing to enter kindergarten during the upcoming September. Through this program, ACSA strives to encourage pro social interactions between children and engagement with an Early Education staff at the Child and Family Center, similar to the manner in which children will with a teacher once they enter school. This program is beneficial for children who do not speak English as their first language as it facilitates the opportunity to engage with other children in English. This program concentrates on activities that will occur once the children have entered school such as circle time, hands on learning activities and free play. Furthermore, pro social interactions will be encouraged such as raising ones hand, not speaking out of turn, sharing materials and learning to follow instructions from an educator.  Our goal is to create an environment that will facilitate the most success possible for children entering the school system.

Readiness to learn summer program: July-August

This is a great program for children entering Junior/Senior Kindergarten in the fall.  The program will help children and families prepare for school.  During the 2.5 hour program, we include routines and structures very similar to a kindergarten classroom this will also include separation.  Children will also have the opportunity to practice developmental skills which will be utilized during their early stage of learning in Junior/Senior kindergarten.  There will be also registration required for families/caregivers.  Please call us at (416) 299-9872.
