Newcomers' Centre - Workshops

Newcomer orientations:
These sessions address the immediate settlement needs of newcomers and provide information on topics such as housing, education system, health care system, etc.

Workshops:
Various topics of workshops are conducted each month to facilitate settlement and integration into the new country. Some examples of workshop topics: job search skills, resume writing, interview techniques, workplace discrimination, parenting, sponsorship, stress management, preventing child abuse, RESP, senior benefits, etc.

Citizenship Test Preparation Classes:
A total of 5 sessions are delivered on a regular basis which assist newcomers in preparing for the Citizenship Test.

Resume Clinic:
Newcomers receive one-on-one assistance on resume and cover letter writing. The session is held once a week.

Computer Tutorial:
Newcomers get assistance on basic computer skills and internet use. The session is held once a week.
