Grow your own garden for nutritional health & well-being
In the summer, ACSA runs two community gardens for low-income Scarborough residents. Residents gain access to garden plots which help to improve the nutritional health and well being of families by growing their own fruits and vegetables.
In 2008, 21 fresh produce markets were held in the Glendower and Glamorgan communities. This community based program is an excellent example of a "hands up" rather then "hands out" program.
It is ACSA's mission to provide the ground work of initiatives and support our community to feel empowered to carry them out to their full potential.
